Railroads shown include the Atlantic Coast Line, Tar River Lumber Company Tram Road, and the Montgomery Lumber Co. RailroadA legend and tables showing the estimated population of the county as of July 1, 1918 and the area of townships in square miles are found in the lower right corner. Townships shown include Griffin, North Whitakers, South Whitakers, Castalia, Nashville, Stony Creek, Rocky Mount, Oak Level, Coopers, Manning, Dry Wells, Bailey, and Jackson. |
